Capheaton Planting Site
The Galbraith Forestry team have been commissioned to work on a new woodland creation site in Northumberland.
In winter 2025/26 the Galbraith Forestry team were commissioned to plant 20 hectares of new woodland in Northumberland for a client with objectives for timber production, wildlife habitat creation and carbon capture. They devised a scheme comprising productive species of mixed conifer and broadleaf tree species with additional areas specifically dedicated for wildlife. The scheme is fully UK Forestry Standard (UKFS) compliant and was entirely funded by the England Woodland Creation Offer (EWCO) grant scheme.
Jonathan Tompson explains the different grant schemes that are available for forestry land owners and how Galbraith can support.
