Galbraith were appointed by our client to co-ordinate the design and oversee the statutory consent approvals for the new building. The design included input from an in-house Architect, a third-party Structural Engineer and a Principal Designer. The material supplier for the kit building had been identified by the business owner; therefore, Galbraith tendered the works to contractors incorporating the specifications from the supplier.

Galbraith then acted as Contract Administrator for the works, setting up the appropriate contract with the chosen contractor. The works were then project managed through to completion.

With several stakeholders involved, it was important that the brief was closely co-ordinated to ensure the building was functional and fit for purpose. The business owner had specific requirements for the use of the building and wanted to add fixed items of equipment post completion, such as self-locking feed barriers, water troughs and gates. The design of these elements had to be considered at an early stage to ensure these items could be added once the building was finished.
