Repairs project: retained to prepare full 10 year PPM and project manage phased external and roofing works.
CKD Galbraith were appointed as client's representative to oversee the architect, engineer and main contractor.
As a result of a prolonged period of poor maintenance and inappropriate repairs to the roof and main tower, serious water ingress had occurred affecting the historic fabric of the Category A listed building. A conservation architect was appointed to prepare a report on the problems with the building, tenders were invited and main contractor appointed to carry out the works.
The works included specialist traditional leadwork, re-pointing with the correct lime based mortar and joint construction, re-roofing and various internal remedial and reinstatement works all using traditional and conservation building techniques.
CKD Galbraith assumed the role of client for Ardverikie Estate, reporting to the Trustees.
Through their role as construction monitor and clients representative, CKD Galbraith kept a strict control on the costs to ensure that there were no costs overruns. The project was completed at the on programme and on budget.
