CKD Galbraith were instructed by Aerium to assist with resolution of a number of building defects and issues, following acquisition of the building prior to its completion.
Due diligence had been carried out by others, but the client was unhappy with the service provided and instructed CKD Galbraith to carry out a full review of the procurement and construction package and assist with rectification of the problems.
Led by partner Pam Over, CKD Galbraith successfully negotiated with the original developer and contractor and monitored the remedial works to the building, which included curtain walling issues, basement water ingress and extensive M&E issues. All the works were at the contractor's cost, saving the client some 1 million.
