Latest findings from Galbraith show that the total exchange price for properties sold by the team in Ayrshire throughout 2025 rose eight per cent on 2024. Typical buyers attracted to Ayrshire are those families choosing a work-life-balance as well as young professionals who are happy to commute to Glasgow whilst gaining more for their money in Ayrshire.
Natalie Fotheringham, head of residential sales for Galbraith in Ayr, said: “The Ayrshire market finished 2025 on a strong note, with a healthy number of late‑season appointments from owners preparing to launch in the spring. That early momentum has carried into the new year, and January has already seen a reassuring level of activity, with offers being agreed, closing dates being set and a steady flow of market appraisals taking place.

“We have a number of spring listings in the pipeline that we are really excited about, reflecting the breadth and quality of property coming forward across the region. Areas proving most in demand include Stewarton, which is very popular with commuters to Glasgow and West Kilbride in North Ayrshire due to its scenic location on the west coast by the Firth of Clyde.
“As was the case last year, demand for smallholdings remains particularly robust, with semi‑rural and rural properties offering land continuing to attract significant interest. Supply in this area still falls short of buyer demand and this has driven competitive bidding when the right opportunities arise.”
