SITUATIONThe Lair is situated in a beautiful peaceful rural location with stunning views of Mount Blair, just north of the village of Bridge of Cally in the county of Perthshire. The historic town of Blairgowrie lies 14 miles to the south and has an excellent selection of day to day services including supermarkets, primary and secondary schooling, medical centre, banks and a range of independent retailers. City of Perth is 32 miles to the south, offers a broader range of facilities including national retailers, swimming pool, Dewars Ice Rink (home to the Perth Curling Club) and both a theatre and concert hall offering performances throughout the year.Edinburgh and Glasgow can both be reached within a 2 hour’s drive by car, and both provide extensive city facilities including international airports. The pretty towns of Pitlochry and Braemar are within a 40-minute drive.Perthshire offers a wide range of sporting and leisure opportunities within the locality. These include winter sports at the nearby Glenshee ski slopes 9 miles away, salmon fishing on the Rivers Tay and Ericht, hill walking in the Grampians, Cairngorm National Park and along the Cateran Trail and 18-hole golf courses are available at Blairgowrie and Pitlochry. Britain’s highest 9-hole golf course is at the nearby Dalmunzie Hotel situated in stunning moorland scenery.DESCRIPTIONThe Lair is a charming, 200-year-old stone-built cottage which offers delightful accommodation in the Cairngorms National Park. There is an abundance of wildlife in the area including deer, birds of prey, hare and red squirrels, also salmon and trout in the nearby River Shee.The ground floor of the cottage has a cosy sitting room with a wood burning stove which is deceptively spacious and full of character and the kitchen which benefits from an oil-fired Aga, with windows overlooking the garden. The ground floor is completed by the bathroom with separate WC. The garden then extends to a pretty area of rough grass leading down to the Allt an Lair Burn.The Lair further benefits from the traditional stone byre which provides a superb storage space or potential for expansion and a wooden garage.
