The land extends to approximately 59.99 Ha (148.24 Acres) and comprises a mixture of approximately 25.17 Ha (62.20 Acres) of temporary grass and approximately 34.82 Ha (86.04 Acres) of permanent pasture. Low Cattadale was formerly a dairy and sheep farm until the late 1980s with 40 cows and followers and around 100 blackface ewes. Latterly, cross ewes were introduced and the numbers were increased to around 300 ewes, up until about 2014. Subsequent to this, a mixture of barley, hay and silage has been grown, with land leased to a neighbouring farmer.
