Cornabus Forest is located on The Oa Peninsula, on the south western tip of the Isle of Islay. It is approximately 2 miles from Port Ellen, one of the two ferry ports on the island. In addition to the ferry links, there are daily flights to Glasgow and the island has a good internal road network. Famed for its eight working distilleries, Islay also has a good 18-hole golf course, and a variety of hotels, pubs and restaurants throughout the island.

The property can be accessed direct from the public road close to the northern end, with a right of access along the first section of the access track at grid reference NR 336 455 contained within the Title and marked AB on the sale plan.

Cornabus Forest mainly occupies a north west facing slope and rises in height from 50 metres up to 146 metres above sea level. The commercial tree crops were all planted in 1985 and consist mainly of Sitka spruce (61%) with small areas of Lodgepole, Larch and broadleaves. No thinning has taken place and the spruce crops are estimated to be growing at Yield Classes 12 to 14.
