Glanderston Wood is a mixed species woodland, with high amenity and conservation value. Scots pine and larch form the conifer overstory, allowing sunshine to flood to the forest floor, and there is an interesting mix of broadleaved trees such as beech, rowan, ash and birch present with sycamore being the dominant species. The Property is a haven for wildlife, and presents the opportunity for further biodiversity enhancement. Excellent views from the woodland, east toward Glanderston Dam and north to the Kilpatrick Hills and Campsie Fells are a feature of the Property. As a consequence of the Property's attractiveness, informal tracks are found on site and provide pleasant walking routes.
This sale also represents an excellent opportunity for those wishing to own a tangible property investment.
Glanderston Wood forms part of an existing Long Term Forest Plan (ref: 4665411) approved by Forestry Commission Scotland (FCS) in February 2014. Thinning approval has been granted for the period 2013 -2032.
The Purchaser will be required to complete the usual Transfer of Obligations Agreement.
The forest has been registered under the Integrated Administration and Control System (IACS).
