The land at Shielhill is situated about 5.5 miles north of Dundee, between the two hamlets of Shielhill and Blackmuir and some 2 miles to the south east of Tealing, in the county of Angus. The A90 lies to the west and reached within a 5 minute car journey.

The area is well served by agricultural merchants, has an active machinery ring with a livestock market in Forfar, some 10 miles to the north.

DESCRIPTION
The land at Shielhill, lying within the fertile and highly productive county of Angus, is a ring fenced block extending to about 23.84 acres (9.65 ha) and ranging from 124m to 132m above sea level. It is designated as predominately Class 3.1 with smaller areas Grade 3:2 as classified by the James Hutton Institute, it is predominately level, enclosed by a deer fence, with mature coniferous trees around part of the periphery.

The land benefits from good access, lying immediately to the north of a minor road leading to Shielhill to the west with a hard core track running through. The majority of the land is planted in Nordmann Fir Christmas trees, planted approximately 2011. The current crop could either be harvested this November or lifted, the ground restored in part, then ploughed and returned to agricultural use. The average rainfall for the area is in the region of 784 mm per annum.
