Butterstone is an idyllic rural hamlet and whilst offering peace and tranquillity has a good community feel with its village hall. There is an abundance of wildlife and lovely walks on the doorstep. Nearby Butterstone Loch offers opportunity for fishing and walking.

Nearby Dunkeld is one of the best preserved and historic villages in Scotland and is located in the heart of Perthshire’s Big Tree Country. It is a popular location with many amenities, including a selection of coffee shops, restaurants, gift and retail shops. Dunkeld has a lively arts, music scene and galleries, including The Taybank, Scotland’s historic music pub. There is a convenience supermarket, post office, doctor’s surgery and primary school. The majestic Cathedral located by a stunning riverside location, with origins from the 12th century is still the parish church and is host to concerts. There are excellent transport connections close by including the A9 leading to Inverness and Perth and a train station at Dunkeld with destinations to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Perth and a direct train to London Kings Cross and Euston.
