Oak Wood lies within a scenic yet accessible part of Perthshire close to the villages of Murthly and Stanley. The city of Perth lies some 11 miles to the south with the A9 trunk road reached
from Oak Wood within approximately a 10 minute journey by car.
Oak Wood lies immediately to the north of Ballathie Farm and to the south of the minor public road running between Murthly and the A93. It is a woodland of scale extending to approximately 112.86 acres with mixture of mature deciduous
and coniferous trees. As the name suggests, Oak Wood is a native woodland with some ancient oak trees. The remainder of the woodland is a mixture of shelter belts and amenity woods.
A public footpath lies through the woodland. Lying to the north of Oak Wood is an arable field extending to approximately 7.16 acres and bounded to the north and west by minor public roads. The field is currently fallow.
