Cedar House is situated adjacent to Rannoch Station in the heart of the Rannoch Moor and combines the peace and tranquillity of open moorland with the accessibility of the West Highland line. This area of Perthshire is particularly popular with outdoor pursuit enthusiasts with a wide range of walks and mountain biking trails on its doorstep. This magnificent open moorland is flanked to the west by the mountains of Glencoe and Black Mount, to the south east by the Glen Lyon hills and the Rannoch Forrest to the north west. A short walk from Cedar House is the Moor of Rannoch Hotel which provides en-suite rooms, restaurant facilities and a bar. 16 miles to the east is the village of Kinloch Rannoch which hosts a village store with post office, cafes and gift shops as well as a doctors surgery and primary schooling. The towns of Aberfeldy and Pitlochry provide a number of services including restaurants, individual shops, medical, optical and veterinary practices. Loch Rannoch itself provides opportunities for boating, canoeing and fishing as well as a chance to get close to a hugely diverse range of wildlife within the locality. The West Highland Railway line provides access to a huge number of destinations, ideal for those looking to spend a day exploring all Highland Scotland has to offer.
Cedar House was constructed in 2006 by the current owners and provides a modern and comfortable family space ideal for use as a second home or full time residence. As the name would suggest, the house is constructed primarily of cedar wood sitting under a slate roof. The southern gable is predominately glass flooding the main living space with natural light.
Entering through the patio doors the main living area accommodates a kitchen, sitting room and dining room with access to 2 double bedrooms, utility room and cloakroom.
The first floor has a mezzanine gallery area with access to a double bedroom and family bathroom.
GARDEN AND GROUNDS
Cedar House sits within its own garden grounds predominately down to lawn with a good sized hardcore parking area. Situated within the garden is a timber summerhouse with sauna and plumbing for showering facilities. There are also a range of log stores and a garden shed.
From Kinloch Rannoch take the road north (B846 signposted Rannoch Station) continue on this road for approximately 16 miles until entering Rannoch Station where Cedar House is situated to the north of the station car park.
