Millfield enjoys a highly scenic rural setting in the sought after county of Perthshire. The popular town of Auchterarder lies approximately 4 miles to the south-east and provides excellent day-to-day services including a well-stocked supermarket, 2 butchers, baker, post office, bank, library, iron monger, primary and secondary schooling and health centre. The City of Perth lies some 19 miles to the east and offers a wide range of national retailers, theatre, concert hall, cinema, swimming pool, restaurants and both railway and bus stations.

Millfield is situated approximately 5 miles to the west of the A9 giving swift and convenient access to the cities of Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow with a railway station at Gleneagles offering daily services to the north and south, including direct services to London. Both Perth and Dunblane can be reached in about a 20 minute journey by car and offer more frequent railway services.
