Holmiry enjoys a highly scenic rural setting close to the settlement of Kirkton of Glenisla. The historic market town of Alyth lies some 10 miles to the south and provides a good range of day-to-day services whilst the city of Dundee can be reached in about a 40 minute journey by car and offers a wealth of amenities including two universities, railway and bus stations together with an airport which offers regular links to London Stansted. Perth, lies approximately 32 miles to the south west and boasts a modern concert hall, popular theatre, cinema, both national and independent retailers, banks and an array of restaurants.
Holmiry sits within an attractive position, commanding southerly views over the surrounding countryside towards the River Isla and beyond. There are a wealth of outdoor pursuits on its doorstep including skiing at Glenshee, an array of hill walking routes through the surrounding hills and glens, together with fishing, shooting and stalking. Nestled in the heart of Glenisla part of the Cateran Trail runs close to the Kirkton of Glenisla, a fully marked walkway of some 64 miles and enjoyed by walkers.
Lot 1 - Holmiry
Holmiry is a delightful period house dating back to the 19th century and is of stone construction lying under a slated roof. The property has retained many original features including panelled doors, fine cornicing and sweeping staircase with painted balusters and fine wooden handrail. The rooms are well proportioned and compliment the house. The sitting room is a delightful reception room with a bay window, wooden floor and is centred on an open fireplace. Lying to the south of Holmiry and on the opposite side of the public road are two permanent pasture fields. The fields do not lie adjacent to each other but are separated by a house which is in third party ownership. They are enclosed on three sides by stock proof fencing and bounded to the south by the River Isla. They are both currently let under a grazing licence due to end in October 2015. The field to the east extends to about 5.24 acres (2.12 ha) and the field to the west extends to about 10.36 acres (4.19 ha).
