Strathmore House lies on the edge of the Kirkton of Newtyle in the county of Angus. Newtyle offers good day-to-day facilities including a primary school, village shop with Post Office, award winning butcher and church whilst more extensive services can be found in Dundee lying some 12 miles to the south-east. Known as the City of Discovery, Dundee provides shopping centres, supermarkets, banks, two universities, cinema and theatre together with both railway and bus stations and an airport providing regular services to London Stansted. Edinburgh airport is approximately 1 hours drive. Perth lies some 20 miles to the south-west and offers a modern concert hall, popular theatre and numerous restaurants.
There are excellent recreational facilities within easy reach of Strathmore House. For the golfer, there are courses nearby at Rosemount, Alyth and Piper Dam whilst the world class links courses at Carnoustie and St Andrews are within about a 45 minute journey by car. The ski slopes of Glenshee can be found to the north and are reached within about an hour’s journey by car. Hillwalking may be enjoyed in the surrounding hills and glens of both Angus and Perthshire and for those interested in Scottish history, Glamis Castle, Dunsinane and Scone Palace, with its race course and venue for the annual Game Fair, are all within easy reach.

Strathmore House is a charming Edwardian house dating back to 1912 with a 1930’s harled extension. It is a stone built house lying under a predominantly slated roof and enjoys scenic views over the surrounding countryside.
