Doonpark Caravan Park is a well-established holiday caravan park set in a picturesque location with excellent views over the surrounding countryside. The popular village of Kippford situated on the Urr Water lies a short distance to the south west and has a yacht club, together with other amenities including restaurants.

The caravan park is located approximately 2 miles south of Dalbeattie which has a wider range of amenities and facilities including local and national retailers, a small supermarket, medical services, and restaurants. Dumfries is located about 16 miles to the north and has a wider range of facilities including supermarkets, leisure facilities and many tourism related activities.

The surrounding area is known for its unspoilt countryside with is rolling landscape and the nearby East Stewarty Coastline is designated as a National Scenic Area characterised with estuarine flats, coastal granite uplands, and peninsulas. There are many golf course nearby including Craigieknowes which is located immediately to the north of Doonpark and Colvend Golf Course at Sandyhills a short distance to the east. Sandyhills as the names suggests has a lovely sandy beech.

The caravan park extends to approximately 10.75 acres (4.35 hectares) and benefits from a licence for a total of 154 units. The park is well established and has been developed over a number of years with a network of internal roads mainly laid to tarmac providing access to the static pitches. The park currently has 123 static pitches and 6 touring pitches, accordingly, there is scope for additional pitches within the site.

Residents at the park have in the past been served by an on-site shop supplying immediate needs though it should be noted this has now been discontinued. Historically planning consent was obtained for the construction of a bar and entertainment centre on site but this was never taken up.

The site slopes downhill from east to west, with the pitches on the upper parts of the site benefitting from outstanding views over the surrounding countryside towards the Urr Water.

All of the static pitches benefit from mains electricity, water and foul drainage connections. The 6 touring pitches benefit from electric hook up points.

Located centrally within the park there is a facilities building with male and female shower and changing facilities and laundry facilities.
The park has been immaculately maintained and is very well presented.

In the north-west corner of the site there is a well-appointed, stone built one and a half storey house, under a pitched slate roof which is ideally suited for owner’s/managers accommodation.

The house has the following accommodation;
Hall, Sitting Room, Kitchen, Utility Room, W.C., 4 Bedrooms and a Bathroom. The house extends to approximately 1,800 sq/ft (167 sq/m).

To the front of the house there is an attractive decking area and lawn which is enclosed by timber post and rail fence and a stone wall to the west and north.

To the rear of the house there are a range of outbuildings used for storage and garaging for gardening machinery and equipment.

The caravan park has been granted a caravan park licence by Dumfries & Galloway Council for no more than 154 pitches for the period from 1st January to 31st December in any year. The licence is available in the data room on request.

The annual static caravan pitch fee is £1,706.

The business is family owned and was established in 1969 and benefits from residents returning year on year and passing on their caravans to the next generation.
