Hill House sits on the southern fringes of the fine village of Broughton. The village boasts a primary school, tennis court and bowling club and the award winning Broughton Brewery. The attractive towns of Peebles and Biggar are close by and provide a wide range of facilities including secondary schools, restaurants, bars, shops and professional services. The area is an accessible location with Edinburgh by-pass approximately 27 miles to the north and Glasgow 58 miles to the west.
This area of the Scottish Borders is renowned for its picturesque rolling countryside. Hill House dates from 1858 and was originally built as Broughton United Free Church before being used as the John Buchan Centre. In 2013 the current owners converted the property into the multipurpose property that is Hill House. The front section of the church is set up as a spacious gallery and includes a cloakroom and storage areas. The entrance to the gallery together with the cloakroom are suitable for wheel chair access.
From the gallery a door leads into the residential apartment.
