Minoru is situated on the southern side of Tweed Crescent in a popular area to the east of Galashiels town centre. The area is accessible to the Public Park and the A7 as well as being within comfortable walking distance of the town centre.
Galashiels is the commercial centre of the Borders and offers a wide range of shops and services, major supermarkets and a variety of leisure facilities. The Scottish Borders Railway, with a station in the centre of the town and nearby Tweedbank, links the town with Edinburgh and runs a regular service to the capital.
Minoru was built in approximately 1940 and retains many fine examples of features from the time such as high ceilings, a bay window and art deco style doors.
The accommodation is laid out on one level and is particularly bright due to the large windows to both the front and rear. The double glazed windows have been replaced in recent years and a new central heating boiler was installed in February 2021. The kitchen has ample space for a table and includes a useful larder cupboard.
Subject to obtaining planning consent, the current accommodation could be extended up into the attic space and/or out into the garden.
GARDEN AND GROUNDS
The front and rear gardens have been landscaped and regularly maintained. The front garden features decorative terraced beds. To the rear of the house the south west facing garden is enclosed and provides a sheltered area to enjoy the outdoors. The garden is mostly laid to lawn and surrounded by decorative beds. Outdoor buildings include a brick coal shed and timber summer house and garden shed.
