SITUATION
Roxburgh is an attractive small village on the west bank of the River Teviot approximately 4 miles south west of Kelso.

The village has an active community and its amenities include a village hall and a church. There a good local walks along both the river bank and the former railway line. A foot bridge over the River Teviot leads to the newly refurbished Roxburghe Hotel and championship golf course.

Arguably the most attractive of the Borders towns, Kelso is set in an area of great scenic beauty and is noted particularly for its fine Market Square and for the remains of one of the great Border Abbeys. The town sits at the confluence of the River Teviot and the River Tweed. Kelso provides a good shopping centre together with an excellent range of social and sporting facilities including golf, bowls, tennis, swimming, curling, national hunt racing and fishing.

A new High School has recently been built on the northern edge of the town and there is a new primary school at Broomlands. There is a main line railway station at Berwick-upon-Tweed and the Borders Railway between Galashiels and Edinburgh terminates at Tweedbank—which is approximately 15 miles from Kelso.
