SITUATION
Ednam is a popular small village with a primary school and village hall. The village lies approximately 2 miles from Kelso on the B6461.

Ednam is surrounded by gently undulating arable lowland and has easy access to each of Kelso and the other main towns in the Scottish Borders. The village has a good community spirit, which centres largely on the village hall, and there is easy pedestrian access to each of the village hall and the primary school from the cottage’s back garden.

Nearby Kelso, arguably the most attractive of the Borders towns, is set in an area of great scenic beauty and is noted particularly for it’s fine Market Square and the remains of one of the great Borders Abbeys. Kelso provides a good shopping centre together with an excellent range of social and sporting facilities including golf, bowls, tennis, swimming, curling, national hunt racing and fishing. The town has good road links with the other principal towns in the Scottish Borders and there are railway stations at each of Berwick upon Tweed (20 miles) and Tweedbank (17 miles). A modern High School has recently been built on the northern edge of Kelso.
