From Kelso head north on the A6089 Edinburgh road turning left on to the B6397 (signed “St Boswells”) just after passing Floors Castle wall. Continue on the B6397 until you reach Smailholm. Pass the Church on your left and the plot, with its old coaching stables, lies on your right as the road bends to the northwest to leave the village.
