Stow is a popular and accessible Borders Village lying on the A7 about 8 miles north of Galashiels and 12 miles from Melrose (with its range of independent shops and restaurants as well as the Abbey and St Mary’s Prep School). The village is well placed for commuting to Edinburgh and the main Borders towns and has benefited from the re-opening of the Waverley Rail Link between Edinburgh and Tweedbank. There is a frequent train service to Edinburgh from Stow.
Stow has an active community and includes the lovely St Mary of Wedale Church along with a health centre, modern primary school, post office/general store and café. Galashiels has a well regarded secondary school as well as a good range of amenities including some large supermarkets and a swimming pool. The surrounding countryside is noted for its scenic beauty.
