Blainslie is a popular small village in a picturesque, yet accessible, rural location approximately 2.5 miles south of Lauder. The Croft lies at the south end of the village and is a short cul-de-sac. Inishere lies at the foot of the cul-de-sac and enjoys a north easterly aspect to the front.

Nearby Lauder is a popular small Borders town located in the upper valley of the Leader Water and benefiting from a good range of amenities including a modern and well regarded primary school, church, shops, petrol station and modern health centre with four highly regarded GPs. Secondary schooling is at the popular Earlston High School. Both Lauder Primary School and Earlston High School are less than ten years old and another school option is St Marys Preparatory School in Melrose.

The countryside around Lauder is noted for it scenic beauty and the town is within commuting distance of Edinburgh, and within half an hour of the Edinburgh by-pass, whilst benefiting from its Borders surrounds. The re-opening of the Waverley Rail Link between the Scottish Borders and Edinburgh, due in September 2015, should be beneficial to the area and there will be a station at nearby Stow.
