1 The Steadings
Swinside Townhead has a tremendous rural location in the foothills of the Cheviots about 2.5 miles to the southeast of Oxnam. I The Steadings has appealing outlooks to both the front/west and rear/east, hills to the rear including Kelso Hill and Cunzierton Hill. This is an excellent area for hill walking and cycling and Oxnam has a village hall and church. There is a wide range of shops, sporting and recreational facilities in Jedburgh and the A68 , which links Edinburgh with the northeast of England, is within comfortable reach. The Borders rail link with Edinburgh terminates at Tweedbank/Galashiels.
From Jedburgh turn off the A68 at the Waterside Fitness Centre and head uphill on Oxnam Road passing the Mainetti Factory before leaving town. Continue to Oxnam and approximately 1 mile south of the village turn left on to a minor road (signed "School") which leads to Swinside Townhead after approximately 1.5 miles. 1 The Steadings lies on your left after passing Swinside Hall.
1 The Steadings is a particularly attractive semi-detached conversion which dates from around 2008 and provides bright ,versatile, nicely proportioned and well appointed family sized accommodation. The property has oil fired central heating (under floor heating at ground level) and windows are double glazed. There is a log burning stove in the sitting room. Kitchen and sanitary fittings are modern and the whole house has recently been redecorated.
There are attractive areas of garden ground to both the front and rear of the house, these including lawns, patio and two areas of gravelled car parking (each with space for at least 2 cars).
