The Tofts is a peaceful, short cul-de-sac in a tremendous location a short distance to the north of Kelso town centre. Vehicle access to The Tofts is from Inch Road, opposite Kelso’s hospital, and there is pedestrian access from Edenside Road, opposite the Tait Hall. No 24 lies on the south west side of The Tofts and has a north easterly aspect to the front. The excellent back garden is a sun trap. Arguably the most attractive of the Borders towns, Kelso lies in an area of great scenic beauty and is noted particularly for its fine Market Square and for the remains of one of the great Border Abbeys. The town sits at the confluence of the River Tweed and the River Teviot. Kelso provides a good shopping centre together with an excellent range of social and sporting facilities including golf, bowls, tennis, swimming, curling, National Hunt racing and fishing. There are plans to build a new high school in the town. Kelso has good road links with the other principal towns in the Borders and there is a main line railway station at Berwick upon Tweed. The Waverley Rail Link between Galashiels and Edinburgh is to re-open in September 2015 with the terminal being at Tweedbank which is approximately 16 miles from Kelso.
