The Dalchork Woodlands are located to the north of the village of Lairg in Sutherland, lying along the A836 public road.

DESCRIPTION

FORESTRY
The forestry is divided into three separate blocks as follows:

Block 1 – 27.9 Ha (68.9 acres)
Block 2 – 28.8 Ha (71 acres)
Block 3 – 21 Ha (51.8 acres)

The forestry was established in the late 1990s, and no felling or thinning has taken place to date.

All three blocks have established well and could provide some immediate felling income. The main species are Sitka spruce, Lodgepole pine and Scots pine. There are significant areas of open ground within all three blocks. There is potential for these to be eligible for peatland restoration.

There is a servitude right of access, shown on plan (A-A1 and B-B1). The sellers will retain a right of access along these tracks. Access upgrades will be required for all blocks to facilitate timber extraction.

The A832 is classified as a Consultation Route for timber haulage and as such consultation with the Local Authority is required and it may be necessary to agree limits of timing, allowable tonnage etc.
