Innesmount is a charming early Victorian, C Listed former schoolhouse in Auldearn, a village close to Nairn on the Moray coast. The house is on an elevated site on the fringes of the village with views from the rear over wooded farmland.
The Moray coast is famous for its mild dry climate and beautiful coastline and the countryside offers a range of leisure and sporting pursuits. Auldearn has a highly regarded primary school, popular pub and restaurant, and luxury country house hotel. Nairn, which can be reached via the off-road cycle track, is a thriving centre with a good range of shops and amenities, including a railway station, and excellent leisure facilities with 2 championship golf courses, a marina, swimming pool and tennis courts. Inverness is within easy reach and has all the facilities of a modern city including its airport with several flights per day to London, as well as regular flights to Europe.
The current owners purchased Innesmount in 2016 and have fully renovated and upgraded the property to create a delightful village house set in beautiful grounds. The classic Victorian interior has well-proportioned rooms, cornicing, picture rails and a beautiful staircase and these features have been retained or improved in the refurbishment. The work carried out includes renewing pipe work, timber treatments, rewiring, a new kitchen and bathrooms, new wood burning stoves and redecoration, while soffits and fascias were replaced and new cast iron guttering installed.
The sitting room is occasionally used as the fourth bedroom, while the potential exists, as shown in the example floor plans, to create a further first floor bedroom.
