Treetops is in the hamlet of Culcharry near Cawdor in Nairnshire. Set into the hillside, the property has a backdrop of mature woodland and from the front of the house, delightful elevated views over the Nairn valley towards the Black Isle.
The surrounding countryside is varied and beautiful with riverside walks and wooded paths, while just a short drive away is the coast with its wide open beaches and famous links golf courses. The conservation village of Cawdor is within walking distance and here there is a village shop, pub with restaurant and highly-regarded primary school. Secondary schooling is available at Nairn Academy and nearby Inverness has all the facilities of a modern city including its airport with regular flights to the south and Europe.
The current owners purchased Treetops in 2015 and since then have further improved both the house and grounds to create an exceptional contemporary property. Full height ceilings and extensive use of glass fill the house with light as well as enhancing solar gain which, combined with excellent insulation and the wood burning stove, minimises running costs. The focal point of the house is the stunning, semi open plan living accommodation with french windows to the balcony which wraps round two sides of the house. A new kitchen with integral appliances has just been installed and the bathrooms and utility room recently upgraded. There are bedrooms on the ground and first floors and the option exists to convert the lower ground floor study into an en suite bedroom with the potential to create a self-contained annexe with access from the garden.
