Ceol Na Mara
Ceol Na Mara is a beautifully appointed, contemporary family home in a delightful coastal location close to Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland. The property forms one of a small cluster of houses lying close to the Moray Firth and off a quiet single track road leading to the 18th century fishing hamlet of Alturlie. Although just a short drive from Inverness, Ceol Na Mara is in a peaceful rural setting with stunning views across the Moray Firth to the Black Isle and towards Inverness and the mountains beyond. There are regular sightings of wildlife from the house including dolphins, herons, badgers and deer and coastal walks directly from the property.
The current owners purchased the house in 2006 and have carried out considerable improvements to create a delightful family home. Work carried out includes the installation of 16 income generating solar panels, replacement double glazing, the creation of a dressing room and bathroom in the master suite, french doors from the sitting room, a new kitchen, and a decked terrace along the front of the house. In addition, three en suite ground floor bedrooms, two with doors to the decking, have been created in one wing of the house and provide extremely comfortable B&B accommodation.
The spacious hall leads both to the sitting room and the bedroom wing of the house allowing privacy for both the B&B owners and guests. The sitting room has as its focal point an inglenook fireplace with multi-fuel stove, while the double height ceiling and french doors allow the room to fill with coastal light. The striking contemporary kitchen has recently been installed and also has an informal family area. The B&B bedrooms are beautifully presented and all have en suite shower rooms and two have doors to the timber deck. Stairs from the sitting room lead to the mezzanine family room/study and from here there are doors to the master bedroom suite and a further en suite bedroom.
