SITUATION
Aldie House lies close to the historic Royal Burgh of Tain on the Tarbat peninsula in Easter Ross in the Scottish Highlands. The handsome house sits in beautiful landscaped gardens and policies, protected by mature woodland and with open, south-facing views.

The Tarbat Peninsula is a promontory lying to the north of Inverness between the Dornoch and Cromarty Firths. The area is popular for its dry climate, wonderful coastal light and fertile farmland culminating in a coastline of sheer cliffs and sandy beaches dotted with historic fishing villages. This varied landscape offers many opportunities for a wide range of rural sports and recreation, while the coastline has a series of links golf courses, the most famous of which, the Royal Dornoch Championship Course, is a short drive from the house. Tain has a good range of shops and amenities including a railway station and schooling up to secondary level. Inverness, just less than an hour’s drive away, has all the facilities of a modern city including its airport with regular flights to the South and Europe.

DESCRIPTION
The current owners purchased the property in 2002 and fully renovated both the house and grounds to create an extremely comfortable and well-presented country home set in beautiful landscaped gardens and policies. All work has been carried out in keeping with the style and character of the property and traditional features retained or reinstated, while the gardens have been landscaped to provide a structured setting for the house.

The interior has been fitted and furnished to the highest standard and many of the furnishings are available to purchase by separate negotiation. Aldie House had previously been a B&B and, with its luxurious interior and setting on the NC500 route, the potential exists to provide holiday accommodation as a B&B or large holiday let.
