3 Bellspool Cottage is situated in the picturesque Upper Tweed Valley and in close proximity to the well renowned Dawyck Botanic gardens which has an award winning visitor centre. The cottage is located approximately 4 miles from the village of Broughton. Broughton has a number of facilities including an excellent tea room, thriving village shop and a garage it also boasts an excellent primary school, tennis court and bowling club. The attractive towns of Peebles and Biggar are close by and provide a wide range of facilities including secondary schools, restaurants, bars, shops and professional services. There is a regular bus service to Biggar and Peebles and onto neighbouring towns and a school bus to both primary and secondary schools in Peebles. The area is in an accessible location with Edinburgh approximately 28 miles to the north and Glasgow 58 miles to the west.
This area of the Scottish Borders is renowned for varied country pursuits including walking and cycling in the beautiful hills and forests of Tweeddale together with fishing in upper reaches of the River Tweed. There are golf courses at Peebles, Biggar, West Linton and Cardrona.
The cottage is grade 'B' listed and was built around 1800 but largely redesigned in approx. 1890. It is of traditional construction with pitched slate roofing.
3 Bellspool Cottage is an end terraced cottage with accommodation on one floor comprising hall, open plan sitting room/kitchen, 2 bedrooms and family bathroom.
There are gardens to the front and rear of the property mostly laid to lawn with mature shrubs and log store.
There are unallocated parking spaces opposite the 3 cottages providing about 2 spaces for each property.
From Peebles take the A72. After approximately 3.5 miles turn left on to B712. Follow road for approx. 4 miles. The Bellspool cottages are on the left just after The Dawyck Botanic gardens entrance.
