Mill of Remichie is a most impressive detached house which enjoys considerable peace and tranquillity and yet is very accessible with Forres, Elgin and the A96 only a short drive away. Constructed of harled block with a pitched slate roof the house has been designed in the style of an extended traditional farmhouse but which benefits from all of the advantages of the building techniques used when it was built in 1994. The house provides flexible and well appointed accommodation over two storeys.
On the ground floor, a porch leads to a spacious hallway which is currently used as a dining room. Double doors open to a bright sitting room with an open fire with a brick surround and a timber mantle. French doors give access directly to the garden, opening up the views to the paddock to the south and help flood the room with natural light The dining kitchen is of a generous size, has timber wall and floor units, an oil fired Aga and French doors out to the garden. Accessed from the kitchen is an office / study whilst a cosy and welcoming snug with an open fireplace has doors to both the kitchen and dining hall. A utility room / hall room with ample built in cupboard space, a store room, pantry and 2 W.C.s complete the ground floor. From the dining hall, stairs with a wooden handrail and balusters lead to the first floor landing which has a quiet north facing seating area.
The master bedroom is of a good size, double aspect and has a door direct to a Jack and Jill bathroom which also links to the upstairs landing (allowing it to be used either as an en suite or a family bathroom) and a dressing room which could also be used as a 5th bedroom if required. There are a further three generously sized bedrooms, one of which can be used as a private suite with an adjoining bathroom and a small landing / seating area. A substantial floored loft accessed via a Ramsay ladder in the upstairs landing provides excellent storage space. Overall the house has a welcoming feel and many fine features including tall ceilings, cornicing and open fire places. It has double glazing and oil fired central heating.
Outside, there is a well-maintained garden with areas of lawn sheltered by mature woodland and a number of mature trees and shrubs. Ample parking space is provided on a gravelled driveway whist there is also a useful timber double garage. To the south lies a 3 acre paddock which provides good sheltered grazing for horses or other animals.
