Granton is an historic harbour village situated to the north of Edinburgh city centre, close to Trinity, and adjacent to Newhaven and the Port of Leith. There is a good selection of shops within easy reach, including a 24 hour Asda at Newhaven, and a covered shopping centre at Ocean Terminal, which includes a number of retail outlets, a cinema complex and gym. The David Lloyd Health Club and Royal Forth Yacht Clubs are all nearby. There are a number of primary and secondary schools, including popular Wardie Primary, in the area.
