Pitcullo Lodge is a delightful rural property, standing in a wonderful elevated position on a hillside with magnificent far reaching easterly views over the surrounding fields and countryside to St. Andrews and beyond. A good range of local services and amenities is available in Balmullo and Dairsie which are less than a five minute drive. A short distance to the east lies the ancient and historic cosmopolitan university town of St. Andrews, renowned world wide as a home of golf with its excellent range of specialist shops and facilities. To the south-west Fife’s main market town of Cupar has a good range of local amenities whilst no more than fifteen minutes to the north the resurgent city of Dundee is home to Scots ship RSS Discovery and the location for the iconic new V & A Centre. Surrounding Pitcullo Lodge is some particularly fine countryside with a lovely mix of farmland, woodland and hill ground. The result is an excellent choice for the outdoor enthusiast with walking, cycling and riding all readily available. There are many highly regarded golf courses in the area including the championship course at Carnoustie and the Old Course at St. Andrews, both of which regularly host the British Open. The wide open spaces of the Lomond Hills and the pretty fishing villages of Fife’s East Neuk are within comfortable driving distance.
In terms of days out there are good sandy beaches at St. Andrews, Tentsmuir and Elie along with a number of popular National Trust for Scotland properties including Hill of Tarvit, Kellie Castle and Falkland Palace. State schooling is available locally with independent schooling being provided at the High School of Dundee and St. Leonards in St. Andrews. There are mainline railway stations in Leuchars, Cupar and Dundee with Edinburgh Airport about an hour and a quarter to the south. The regional airport at Dundee offers a good selection of short-haul flights.
The property was originally the gate lodge for nearby Pitcullo Castle and dates back to 1852 and it was extended at a later date. The house is largely constructed of sandstone with crow step gables typical of so many period properties in Fife. The house was purchased by the current owners in 2015 and is has since undergone a comprehensive renovation and now offer a comfortable home finished to a high standard with oil central heating and PVC double glazed windows. The beautifully portioned accommodation on one level extending to about 106 sqm and offer the most outstanding views over the surrounding countryside with the Eden Estuary and St. Andrew Bay visible in distance on a clear day.

Pitcullo Lodge is approached from the public road by an impressive entrance, which leads to a private drive and up to the garage. The enclosed garden is enclosed by stone walls and is largely laid to lawn and benefits from an orchard. A path leads round the house is an attached studio/utility room, which has an electricity and water supply.
From St. Andrews take the A91 in a westerly direction. Continue through Gaurdbridge and then at the roundabout before Dairsie turn right onto the A914 signposted for Balumullo and the Tay Bidge. Continue for just over half a mile and then turn left onto the minor road after passing Thai Teak. Continue up the hill and Pitcullo Lodge is situated on the right after a short distance.
