As one of Fife’s and possibly Scotland’s most sought-after and exclusive destinations Elie and Earlsferry benefit from a wonderfully eclectic mix of shops, restaurants, pubs and such like. The golden sandy beach at Elie is particularly fine whilst the famous golf links enjoys a reputation as one of Fife’s best courses. The Fife Coastal Path runs through the village and close by are the quaint and pretty white wash fishing villages of Fife’s East Neuk which include Crail, Anstruther, St. Monans and Pittenweem. St. Andrews, the ancient and historic university town known worldwide as “The Home of Golf” is about thirteen miles to the north-east and in terms of the cities Dundee is within comfortable driving distance with Edinburgh about forty-five miles distant.
