Allan Place is a delightful pedestrian lane which connects Earlsferry High Street and Links Road, just a short walk from the village centre and the adjoining village of Elie. As one of Fife’s and possibly Scotland’s most sought-after and exclusive destinations Elie and Earlsferry benefit from a wonderfully eclectic mix of shops, restaurants, pubs and such like. The golden sandy beach at Elie is particularly fine whilst the famous golf links enjoys a reputation as one of Fife’s best courses. Elie also has a a nine hole golf course, tennis courts and a driving range. The Fife Coastal Path runs through the village and close by are the quaint and pretty white wash fishing villages of Fife’s East Neuk which include Crail, Anstruther, St. Monans and Pittenweem. St. Andrews the ancient and historic university town known world-wide as “The Home of Golf” is about thirteen miles to the north-east and in terms of the cities Dundee is within comfortable driving distance with Edinburgh about forty-five miles distant.
Complementing Earlsferry’s quaint village appeal, the surround countryside and coastline are simply outstanding with a delightful mix of farmland, hill, woodland, river and coast line. The area is home to an array of wildlife and offers great scope for the outdoor enthusiast. Walking, cycling, riding, sailing, fishing and shooting are all available close by along with an outstanding selection of highly rated golf courses including Elie itself, Crail, Kingsbarns, Ladybank and the many courses in and around St. Andrews including the Old Course where the Open Championship is next due to call in 2021 for its one hundred and fiftieth anniversary. Part of this area of Fife’s attraction as a holiday destination is its excellent accessibility with rapid access from the Scottish central belt both east and west.
