Beautiful Loch Leven is just a short drive from the houe whilst the pretty fishing villages of Fife's quaint East Neuk are within a half hour drive to the east.

Excellent state schooling is available nearby, with private schooling being provided at Dollar Academy, and Kilgraston as well as the various schools in Edinburgh, which is only 27 miles distant. There are mainline railway stations in Kirkcaldy, Lochgelly, Glenrothes and Ladybank with Edinburgh airport approximately a forty-minute drive to the south. Park and Ride facilities are available in Kinross for access to Edinburgh, Perth and beyond.
The area is a magnet for outdoor enthusiasts with the RSPB National Nature Reserve at Vane Farm on Loch Leven, and the adjacent Heritage Trail around the loch. Loch Leven's Larder and several other popular eateries are in the area. Pillars of Hercules organic shop and café is just over the Lomond Hills in nearby Falkland.

Continue up the hill for just under one mile and then turn sharp left into the shared private tarmac road to Kinninmonth Farm. Continue past the farm on the right and the entrance to Hunters Lodge is the second turning on the left at the end of the road.
