2 Luthriebank Cottages is situated on the village of Luthrie in North East Fife, which is surrounded by lovely countryside with Norman’s Law just a short distance away. Luthrie is well placed for access to the county market town of Cupar, less than 6 miles distant, which offers an excellent range of local amenities and facilities, as well as a popular monthly farmers’ market. In terms of city facilities, there is easy access to the resurgent city of Dundee, already home to Scott’s RSS Discovery and shortly to be the location for the iconic new V & A centre. Perth is a short drive to the west whilst about a twenty minute drive to the east lies the ancient and historic university town of St. Andrews with its excellent cosmopolitan selection of shops and restaurants.
The surrounding countryside is home to an assortment of wildlife and for the outdoor enthusiast offers great scope for walking, cycling, riding, sailing and of course golf with the Old Course at St. Andrews regularly hosting The Open Golf Championship. Shooting and fishing may be taken locally whilst the pretty fishing villages of Fife’s quaint East Neuk such as Anstruther, Pittenweem and Crail are a comfortable drive from the property. In terms of days out the wide open spaces of the Lomond Hills are close at hand along with a number of popular National Trust for Scotland properties including Hill of Tarvit, Kellie Castle and Falkland Palace. Fife’s beautiful and varied coastline includes several good sandy beaches such as Tentsmuir, St. Andrews and Elie.
There are railway stations in Cupar, Leuchars, Markinch and Ladybank, with Edinburgh airport about fifty minutes to the south. The busy regional airport at Dundee offers a good selection of short-haul flights.
2 Luthriebank Cottages is a charming mid terraced house constructed of stone under a pitched slate roof and offers beautifully decorated accommodation on one level extending to about 69 sqm (744 sqft). The house is approached by an entrance corridor which leads off to a deceptively spacious reception room with a log burning stove. Also situated off the corridor are a master bedroom, study/bedroom 2, bathroom and kitchen.
The cottage is approached from a minor public road which leads up stone steps to a shared gravel area in front of the house.
