Pleasance House originally dates from 1815 (with later additions) and comprises a lovely family house constructed of stone under a series of pitched slate roofs and is surrounded by some exceptional countryside. The house has a symmetrical south facing façade, which was extended in 1879. It has been in the same ownership for 19 years and has undergone a comprehensive renovation and improvement with high quality finishings throughout. Whilst much of the original charm and character of the house has been retained, it has been extensively modernised and upgraded in recent years to create an exceptional family home, ideal for entertaining and modern family living. The house also benefits from PV solar panels with the highest feed in tariff (providing a useful income stream) as well as double glazed windows.
A spacious hallway features a traditional tiled floor. Doors lead off to a lovely sitting/dining room with a Barbas inset log burning stove and a slate surround and hearth. The kitchen/family room has oak board flooring and offers a bespoke, high specification Murray and Murray fitted kitchen with Corian work surfaces, an electric Aga as well as an electric hob and multi-function oven, integrated dishwasher and fridge/freezer. A glazed door leads off the kitchen to a Mozolowski and Murray conservatory, which leads out to an extensive decked area with an exceptional outlook over the beautifully maintained garden, with the Lomond Hill visible in the distance. Also on the ground floor are a study/bedroom 6 and utility room with a WC. A rear hall leads off to the side garden and garden sheds to the east.
The principal bedroom accommodation on the first floor is approached by a split-level staircase illuminated by large roof lights. There are five spacious bedrooms and a family bathroom. The master bedroom features an original deep ceiling cornice and has an en-suite bathroom by Murray and Murray. At attic level is a boarded loft.
