The Granary is situated on the edge of an exclusive steading development and surrounded by lovely open countryside a short distance to the north of Dundee. With the amenity of the Sidlaw Hills on the doorstep, The Granary offers a superb rural lifestyle with all the facilities and services of the resurgent city of Dundee just a short drive away. Already home to Scott’s RSS Discovery, the city will soon be home to the iconic new V & A museum. In addition to the
city centre itself both the west end area and suburb of Broughty Ferry offer their own upmarket shopping districts with an excellent range of specialist shops and amenities. From Eastfield Steading there is also
easy access to a number of retail parks and out
of town shopping centres between them offering
a good selection of supermarkets and national
retailers providing for virtually every requirement.
There is quick access to the main A90/M90
motorway network linking Perth, Edinburgh and
Aberdeen, whilst Glasgow is approximately ninety
minutes to the west.
The Granary offers ready access to the charming
surrounding villages and towns of Angus and North
East Fife, including St. Andrews and Carnoustie as
well as some particularly fine countryside. With a
lovely mix of farmland, coastline, hill, wood and river
the result is to provide a home for an array of wildlife
as well as presenting a fine choice for the outdoor
enthusiast with walking, cycling, riding, sailing and
golf all readily available. Golfers in particular are
especially well catered for with an unrivalled selection
of highly rated courses close at hand including the
championship course at Carnoustie and The Old
Course at St. Andrews, which both regularly host the
British Open. In addition the courses at Downfield,
Blairgowrie, Alyth and Piperdam are all in the area.
The pretty Angus glens including Glen Isla, Glen
Clova and Glen Prosen are all well within striking
distance for day trips and for skiers Glenshee is just
over an hour’s drive to the north. There are excellent
sandy beaches at St. Andrews, Lunan Bay and St.
Cyrus as well as Broughty Ferry.
State primary and secondary schooling is available
locally with independent schooling being provided
at the High School of Dundee and a number of
well regarded schools in the Perth area. There are
railway stations in Dundee and Perth with Edinburgh
airport around one hour’s drive to the south. The
regional airport at Dundee offers a good selection
of short-haul flights.
