Inglewood is a lovely detached house situated on the edge of the small village of Dunshalt in North Fife. Local services and amenities are available in the form of the local grocery shop/post office (on the opposite side off the road) with a wider offering available in the nearby villages of Auchtermuchty and Falkland. About a fifteen minute drive to the east lies the local county market town of Cupar which offers an excellent range of amenities and facilities with shops, schools, hotels and restaurants as well as a railway station. Standing centrally within Fife, in an area known locally as the Howe of Fife, the village of Dunshalt benefits from excellent accessibility in all directions. The cities of Perth, Dundee and Edinburgh are all within comfortable driving distance whilst the ancient and historic university town of St. Andrews is less than a thirty minute drive to the east.
The charming countryside around Dunshalt is home to an array of wildlife and in terms of outdoor pursuits is the ideal setting for walking, cycling and riding. It is perhaps golf for which Fife is best known though with numerous highly regarded courses in the county including popular courses at Ladybank, Lundin Links, Elie and Crail along with the numerous top courses in and around St. Andrews where the Old Course regularly hosts the British Open. The quaint fishing villages of Fife’s pretty east neuk are within easy reach of Dunshalt and in terms of days out there are many options ranging from the wide open spaces of the Lomond hills to several popular National Trust for Scotland properties including Falkland Palace, Hill of Tarvit and Kellie Castle.
State schooling is available locally with primary schools in Auchtermuchty and Falkland, and secondary schooling in Cupar at Bell Baxter. Private schooling is provided at St. Leonards in St. Andrews, the High School of Dundee, and several schools in the Perth area. There are railway stations at Cupar, Ladybank and Markinch with Edinburgh no more than forty five minutes to the south. The regional airport at Dundee offers a good range of short haul flights.
Inglewood is a lovely detached stone house situated on Main Street in the village of Dunshalt. The house is approached by an impressive front door surmounted by a window with the inscription “Inglewood”.
Internally the accommodation has been finished to a very high standard and is full of charm and character. Most of the downstairs rooms benefit from quality hard wood flooring. A central hall, with an under stairs study area, lies at the heart of the house with doors leading off to a guest bedroom and a reception room with a log burning stove. A further door leads off the reception room to a family room with a gas stove and doors leading off to a conservatory and the kitchen. The kitchen has a good range of free standing and fitted floor and wall cupboards and also has a door leading off to the conservatory as well as a dining room with WC off. The conservatory looks out over the enclosed garden and connects well with the house with doors leading off to the family room, kitchen and garden.
The bedroom accommodation on the first floor comprises three spacious bedrooms and a newly fitted family bathroom with separate walk in mains pressure shower. The master bedroom has a walk in dressing room and a further dressing room is situated off the landing.
Inglewood is situated in a lovely enclosed garden which is largely laid to lawn with mature fruit trees and shrubs. It can be approached by a gateway to the north side of the house, which leads to a side drive to a spacious garage with a garden store to the rear.
