DESCRIPTION
This attractive C Listed building was built in the mid nineteenth century, it has been fully rewired and sympathetically refurbished over the last few months, in order to retain its character and charm. Many of the windows have been replaced with new wooden frame sash and case windows, and the ground floor and first floor rooms have traditional high ceilings with cornicing. Street facing windows have cottage style 12 pane sash and case windows which complement the stone front, with granite margins and quoins. A log burning Dowling Stove, made locally in Bladnoch, sits in the fireplace in the Sitting Room creating a cosy ambiance during cooler evenings. The Kitchen has been kept simple with fitted floor cupboards only, and a ceramic sink and solid wood worktop. White Metro tiles keep the Shower Room bright, the shower is a power shower with added pressure from a pump situated beside the hot water tank. Heating is provided by low maintenance oil filled electric heaters, which can be programmed to work together, or independently.

A pend runs beside the property with shared access and maintenance, this provides access to and from the garden without entering the property. There are two very different views from 2 Acre Place, windows to the front of the property look out on to the street, windows to the rear look out on to the garden, over the town and out to Wigtown Bay.

SITUATION
2 Acre Place is situated on the A714 as it enters Wigtown from Bladnoch, the road continues on to South Main Street, the square and County Buildings.

Wigtown, Scotland’s Book Town is a very popular town, especially between the end of September and beginning of October, when it hosts an annual book festival. The town becomes a hub of activity as people come to listen to speakers, visit the many book shops, eat in the café’s and pop up food establishments, and wander through the ‘Kist’ with stalls displaying work made by local artists and craftspeople. Wigtown has a primary school, church, post office and supermarket, it also hosts an annual Agricultural Show in August. Newton Stewart is the nearest town with a wider range of shops, offices, leisure centre, primary schools and a secondary school.

GARDEN
The garden can be accessed from the Kitchen, and from the pend. A patio area, leads down to a long strip of grass, with a wire fence either side. The lawn at the bottom of the garden gets the sun all day, and was previously a very productive vegetable patch.
