Glenshamrock is situated in a secluded and private location in scenic rural Ayrshire within easy reach of Glasgow and the central belt but within a short distance of the local settlement of Auchinleck, East Ayrshire. The small town has a good range of local facilities which include supermarket, hotel, butchers and bakers. There is a railway station with connections to Glasgow, Kilmarnock and Ayr. The new Barony Campus in Cumnock (about 3 miles) opened in 2020 incorporates both primary and secondary schooling. It has a modern sports centre and outdoor facilities providing enhanced leisure and recreational facilities to the local community. There is a private school, Wellington in the county town of Ayr (about 15 miles). Turn right after about 1 mile, then proceed along this road for about 0.5 miles and Glenshamrock Farm is on the right hand side.
