The Barn at Gowanpark is pleasantly situated about 15 miles from Ayr in a fine rural location and forms part of an attractive courtyard development of five houses constructed about 10 years ago. There is primary schooling available at Ochiltree and Coylton and a new secondary school is due to open this year between Cumnock and Auchinleck. The new community hub in Ochiltree has a well-regarded coffee shop. Nearby places of interest include Dumfries House, a Palladian country house set in a 2,000 acre estate with beautiful walled gardens recently opened by HRH Queen Elizabeth and a frequent favourite of Prince Charles.
