The village has a primary school, pub and post office/general store which sells locally produced food. Maybole is 9 miles distant where a wider range of shops, secondary school and swimming pool can be found. The market town of Ayr is easily accessed via the A77 with a variety of shops, restaurants, supermarkets, leisure facilities and hospital. There is all year racing at Ayr Racecourse including the Scottish Grand National. Culzean Castle Estate with its famous Robert Adam’s cliff-top castle, woods, beaches, secret follies and play parks is 10 miles distant. Prestwick and Glasgow airports are 20 and 54 miles respectively. Ayrshire is renowned for its attractive coastline and world famous links golf courses, including Turnberry (about 17 miles).
