Nearby Brunston Castle has an excellent restaurant as well as an 18 hole golf course and there are some lovely walks in the locality known as The Dailly Trails.
The cottage is located about 5 miles outside the seaside town of Girvan which has a good range of local shops, supermarkets and a community hospital. There is both primary and secondary schooling in Girvan with private schooling and a wider range of high street shops, bars and restaurants in Ayr (18 miles).
