Tigh Mor is a charming traditional attached country cottage in a peaceful situation within a small hamlet on a quiet country lane close to the popular village of Lochwinnoch, set in a delightful woodland garden.

Tigh Mor is situated within the Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park which affords many opportunities for those interested in the countryside and environmental issues. The property occupies a delightful and peaceful location with the moorland of Renfrewshire Heights beyond but it is not in any way remote.

Tigh Mor is believed to date from the early eighteenth century. It is the main house of High Linthills steading, a former sheep farm, which forms a hamlet of 5 houses in total. The present owner has successfully retained much of the character of the original property and it is tucked away in a private position with intimate gardens in a woodland setting. The individually designed accommodation is well appointed and includes a superb studio on the first floor. The majority of the accommodation is on the ground floor where there are 3 bedrooms, sitting room, kitchen, utility room and shower room and on the first floor, bedroom, bathroom and the studio.

Tigh Mor is a beautifully presented 4 bedroom country cottage. The half glazed entrance door opens to a welcoming porch with stone flooring. The attractive sitting room is enhanced by a striking eighteenth century local stone fireplace and hearth with wood burning stove. Deep window sills and an alcove add to the character of the room. There are three bedrooms on the ground floor, the kitchen/dining room has an early nineteenth century restored rustic dresser providing extensive storage and there are floor units with electric hob, 1.5 bowl sink, wooden worktops, painted wood flooring and a cosy wood burning stove. From the kitchen, a glazed door leads to the useful utility room with butler sink, floor units and plumbing for washing machine and space for fridge/freezer. A further glazed door leads to the rear porch with door to a small garden area with private sheltered patio. There is a shower room with curved shower cubicle, w.c. and sink with stone splashback. There is a walk-in pantry off the front porch.

On the first floor, there is a further bedroom, bathroom with bath, w.c., and sink and a studio with small kitchen area with fitted sink and units.

Tigh Mor is complemented by pale wood flooring and paintwork with fine red pine windows throughout the property. It has oil fired central heating and there is plenty of storage throughout.

The gardens at Tigh Mor are a paradise for wildlife, children and adults alike. The colourful gardens have been planted with exotic species of Himalayan rhododendrons which take centre stage in spring coming into flower with their soft blooms. Other shrubs include hydrangeas, eucryphia and other eye-catching species, with gravelled paths weaving through the gardens and woodland.

There is a terraced seating area to the front of the house in which to relax and enjoy the gardens, and to the rear, there are two further private seating areas to enjoy the afternoon sun. The intimate garden area around the house has been designed with plants for year-round interest but low in maintenance.

There is ample opportunity to extend the garden area into the field beyond for vegetable, fruit growing and small scale cropping or other horticultural interests. The land has been free from chemical additives for many years.
