Hunterston Farm is situated in a tranquil location with spectacular views over the surrounding Ayrshire countryside. It is some 9 miles from Ayr (15 minute drive). This part of Ayrshire has a coastal network of scenic towns and villages amongst rolling hills and panoramic beach landscapes.
Stair has a local Inn (the Stair Inn) and a range of local village amenities including primary school, post office and shops are available at Coylton (about 4 miles). There is good coverage of broadband available in the area. The county town of Ayr is only a short drive away which offers a comprehensive range of excellent services including restaurants, shopping, supermarkets and a private co-educational school. The town benefits from a wealth of public parks, good path networks and wide sandy beaches on the Firth of Clyde coast. There are some delightful river walks along the River Ayr taking in Pedens Cove as well as Highland Marys Monument in Failford. There are frequent train services to Glasgow and beyond. Prestwick Airport, with a comprehensive schedule of international flights, is about 13 miles. Glasgow (34 miles) itself is easily accessible via the A/M77 in a journey time of about 40 minutes.
The popular racecourse in Ayr holds the Scottish Grand National and there are yacht marinas at Troon, Ardrossan and Largs. A number of Scotlands most famous Links golf courses including Turnberry, Royal Troon and Prestwick are close at hand.
Hunterston Farm is a well presented stone built farmhouse painted white with slate roof on one and a half storeys set in about 13.2 acres. The current owners have re-roofed the property and the adjacent barn could be developed into further living accommodation subject to the necessary consents.
