Woodside Cottage is located within the picturesque Glenbuchat area in the Cairngorms National Park. The charming village of Bellabeg is only 4 miles away with a shop, post office and local primary school. Bellabeg is also home to the annual Lonach Gathering & Highland Games, founded in 1841 which attracts thousands of visitors to the area each year. Being located within the Cairngorms National Park you have endless beautiful walks, stunning countryside to explore, out door activities and the Lecht Ski Centre & School is only a 30 minute drive away. The nearest town to Strathdon is Alford to the east which is 16 miles away. Alford is a popular and growing town with a wealth of amenities including a health centre, shops, post office, filling station, hotels along with a dry ski slope and transport museum. Regular bus services are available from Alford with links to Aberdeen, Westhill, Kintore and Kemnay. Schooling is provided at Strathdon Primary School and then Alford Academy, a brand new community campus just completed and believed to have a new primary and secondary school, swimming pool, theatre, library and community café.
Aberdeen is some 40 miles, and provides all the leisure, recreational and entertainment facilities expected from the oil capital of Europe. It also provides good transport links with a mainline railway station and is host to an airport providing both domestic and international flights.

From Aberdeen, travel west along the A944 passing Alford and turning left onto the A97. Follow this road for approx. 8 miles passing Kildrummy Castle and Glenkindie. Turn right at the sign post for ‘Glenbuchat’ and travel for approx. 1.1 miles, then turning left and again continuing for approx. 1 mile. Upon entering Glenbuchat turn right at ‘The Old Shop’ which is just before you approach the Glenbuchat Hall. Continue up the track and Woodside Cottage is on the left hand side.
For Council Tax purposes Woodside Cottage has been assessed as Band C.
